GUIDELINES FOR ELIGIBILITY

You must meet the following criteria to be eligible for free tuition and fees for credit courses including audits:

Be 60 years of age or older. Must show a valid driver’s license or other picture ID with birthdate.
Be domiciled in Virginia for a minimum of one year prior to the semester/term you wish to attend.
Be admitted to TCC as a student. Click here for online Application for Admission
Be admitted to course(s) after tuition-paying students have been accommodated (at least 51% of the enrollment of any creditcourse must be tuition-paying).
Senior citizens eligible for free tuition and fees for credit courses and audit courses shall pay no tuition and fees except fees established for the purpose of paying for course materials (e.g., laboratory fees). Students are responsible for purchasing booksand materials needed for the course(s).

State institutions of higher education may make individual exceptions to this procedure when the senior citizen has completed 75% of the requirements for the degree.

You must meet the criteria listed in Guidelines for Eligibility above, as well as had a taxable income not exceeding $23,850 for Virginia income tax purposes for the year preceding the year in which enrollment is sought. Enrollment starts three business days prior to the beginning of the course start date.
