TCC, VCU sign off on new transfer agreement in biology
Following successful completion of a two-year Associate of Science in Science at TCC, graduates are now able to transfer directly to VCU to work toward a Bachelor of Science in Biology.
“TCC partners with colleges and universities that are not only popular with our students but offer them a seamless transfer of credits as well,” said Kellie Sorey vice president for academics. “VCU is a primary transfer destination for TCC students and biology is the major of choice for many of our graduates. TCC is proud to partner with VCU.”
TCC students may take requirements for the 60-credit Associate of Science in Science on all four campuses. First-time college students who meet GPA and other requirements may qualify for a two-year transfer grant to apply toward tuition at VCU. The grant could be as much as $2,000.
VCU’s Bachelor of Science in Biology prepares students for admission to programs in schools of graduate study, medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine and allied health professions; for employment in private industry and government agencies; and for teaching in elementary and secondary schools.
The transfer agreements take effect immediately. Interested students should contact the TCC Information Center at 757-822-1122.
