TCC to host light rail forum on Nov. 2

Tidewater Community College will host a forum about the light rail referendum at the Virginia Beach Campus on Nov. 2 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Representatives from groups in favor of and in opposition to the ballot question – whether the City Council should spend local funds to extend light rail to Town Center in Virginia Beach – will attend.

A representative from the City of Virginia Beach will also speak.

The 3.5-mile extension from Newtown Road in Norfolk to Town Center in Virginia Beach is projected to cost $243 million. The referendum is on the Nov. 8 ballot.

The forum will be in room 320 of the Virginia Beach Student Center. The public is invited, along with TCC students, faculty and staff.
