Learn secrets of stars at TCC’s planetarium show on March 24

Some stars are massive. Others are tiny. Each has its own story according to “The Secret Lives of Stars,” the newest show at Tidewater Community College’s planetarium.

Shows are on March 24 at 6:30 and 7:30 p.m.

Each one-hour performance, with narration by Patrick Stewart of “Star Trek: The Next Generation” and “X-Men,” includes a review of the night sky and a laser light show.

TCC’s planetarium is in the Science Building on the college’s Virginia Beach Campus.

Admission is free and open to the public, but reservations are required for each show. To reserve a seat, call the TCC Information Center at 757-822-1122 or register online at www.tcc.edu/planetarium.

A limited number of standby tickets will be available at the planetarium on the day of the show. Arrive at least 15 minutes early to guarantee a seat.

Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult, and children under 4 will not be admitted.

TCC’s planetarium has a state-of-the-art Digistar 5 Laser projector housed in a 40-foot dome with 87 permanent seats. It produces an all-sky image.

Parking is available in the lot closest to the Advanced Technology Center, which is next to the Science Building.
