Barnes & Noble is TCC’s exclusive provider of textbooks and academic materials.
Students are responsible for purchasing required textbooks and supplies. The cost varies from semester to semester and from one program of study to another.
Tidewater Community College’s Bookstore is managed by Barnes & Noble. Barnes & Noble at TCC offers new and used textbooks for rent or purchase. In addition to traditional print textbooks, digital textbooks are also available.
You can use your financial aid to purchase textbooks and supplies either online or at the bookstore. These purchases can be made approximately 2-3 weeks before the start of the term. View the financial aid charge periods.
We offer an open stock of textbooks at the MacArthur Center Mall Barnes & Noble location, near the Norfolk Campus, and at the Virginia Beach Campus location inside the Student Center. The MacArthur location carries course requirements for Chesapeake, Norfolk, and Portsmouth courses. The Virginia Beach location serves the Virginia Beach Campus.
Distribution stores, located inside the Student Center at the Chesapeake and Portsmouth campuses, are available as a pick-up option for online orders. There is no cost to order online and ship to any of the four campus locations.
All locations, including distribution stores, can process refunds, rental returns, and buy back textbooks at the end of the semester. All locations also offer a wide range of school supplies, TCC apparel, and reference materials.
